I hope you are just as excited about this year's show as I am! It looks like the weather will be beautiful and the quilts will take center stage at Pioneer Park in Bend. Be sure to let your friends and family know to come visit the show this Saturday (10am-4pm). Here are a few reminders:
Check out all the show details on the Quilt Show in the Park page. You can print your quilt entry forms there.
Quilt collection is this Friday, August 19, 2016, 10am-3pm at the Bend Park and Rec District Office Community Room, 799 SW Columbia St, Bend.
Remember to bring your special exhibit quilts if you have them:
Novel Idea (Euphoria)
Book, Scissors, Quilt
Central Oregon Modern Quilt Guild (Cool Colors Challenge)
MBQG Page 38 Challenge
Joe Cunningham Class Quilts
Sales table items will also be collected on Friday. The sales table form is on the Quilt show page.
Please try to be there at 7 am to help with set up. It's a huge job, but goes quickly with lots of helping hands.
Don't forget to come back (or stay until) at 4:15 pm to pick up your quilts.
PARKING: It looks like parking will be compromised due to the lot across the street being blocked off. We encourage all guild members to park in the county offices lot on Wall street. If you need to drop off/pick up items, please drive into the park, but move your car once unloaded. Thanks for your patience and understanding in this matter.
Our July guild meeting was full of quilts! What a joy it was to share the Page 38 Challenge quilts and our show and tell from Quilt Week in Central Oregon. I hope you enjoy the photos! The Page 38 challenge quilts will be part of a special exhibit at our Quilt Show in the Park, Pioneer Park in Bend, August 20, 2016, 10am-4pm.
In addition, the August newsletter is available on the Newsletter Page, all the info for our Quilt Show in the Park is on the Quilt Show Page, and don't forget, the Guild Retreat Registration Form is on the Retreat Page.
In other news, Jeanette Pilak, the director of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, has requested that any feedback about any aspect of the quilt show be sent to the her (firstname.lastname@example.org) directly. All feedback will be considered when planning for next year's show.
Enjoy this beautiful summer weather and hope to see you at our Quilt Show in the Park!
~e-MBQG Coordinator Kristin S.
PS- The Page 38 Challenge was to find a page 38 in any magazine (except for quilt and craft magazines) and to interpret that page on a quilt how ever you like. Some were inspired by the words, colors or shapes on the page. 23 quilts were submitted and the variety was amazing! Enjoy!
