Our guest speaker for the April guild meeting was Central Oregon art quilter Sharon Carvalho. She gave a fascinating lecture on her use of printed fabrics in her art quilts. Sharon uses her own photos and scans of printed materials, plays around with them in Photoshop, and prints the resulting layered images onto fabric on her home printer. Her quilts are complicated assemblages full of imagery and meaning. See close ups below. Enjoy!
