Dear members,
Here is an update from the SOQS:
At this time, the SOQS office is working remotely as we continue to plan our 2020 Show for all of you.
Our hope is that everyone will take a responsible course of action by following the guidelines set forth by local, state and federal health authorities in order to get through this unprecedented time. This includes our own office, with our staff working from home. We will continue to monitor updates from the federal authorities and provide updates about the show as we have them. For the most up to date information, be sure to follow us of Facebook or Instagram.
Our plan is to continue moving forward with the World’s Largest Outdoor Quilt Show to take place on Saturday, July 11. We look forward to celebrating the art of quilting with all of you at our 45th show when this health crisis is over. SOQS will continue to update periodically as needed if there are any impacts to our event.
In the meantime, we hope that this time allows you to quilt a little more. Stay healthy, stay safe and keep stitching! PS – if you need to reach our office please email info@soqs.org or director@soqs.org.
May 22 – last day to register in the general show
May 1 – last day to register in the special exhibits
Sending virtual hugs to you all!
Below is our first Virtual Show & Tell. I am sure that many of you are making masks or other protective clothing for family, friends, and to donate to first responders, but if you are also doing some sewing for pleasure, we'd love to see it! If you'd like to participate, please see this post for the details on submissions. Members names are shown above each photo.
Wynne Osborne: Heading for the Boutique:
Rosie Wardell: 1 and 2: Finished a top and a quilt.
Jane Davis: Recently finished Community Quilt.
Patti Stewart: "Future Perfect" This quilt was inspired by a class taught by Rosalie Dace, studying the paintings of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. My goals were to explore line and color, along with perspective. I like to think a benevolent moon is looking down upon a futuristic village.
Kristin Shields: This is one of several Christmas quilts I put together since Christmas.
