Greetings Guild Members,
This time I have only a few photos to show. I had only one photo sent in to me, but I was able to also post photos of some of our members who are in the Undercover Quilters. We had our August book quilt reveal this week and since I was there I was able to get photos. I'm sure there are many more members who have been hard at work in their sewing rooms. I would love to have more photos to show next month. You are welcome to send them in at any time to mbqginfo @ gmail.com. Suggestions for photos include: finished quilts, quilts in progress, pets and quilts, your sewing room, babies and children with quilts (really, send me what you want to show that has to do with quilts and I'll be happy to include them). Enjoy!
Debbie Hall- This is quilt I finished from the Block of the Month at The Quilt Basket in 2019. It was called "Spotted." Not sure why it is called that??
The Undercover Quilters is a small group that was formed in 2009 as an offshoot of the Mt Bachelor Quilters' Guild. Many of our members are still guild members, so I've included some of their photos here. The UCQ was formed as a book club and every year we choose one of our books read from the previous year and we each make a quilt inspired by the book. This year the book is Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. This very popular novel follows a young girl named Kya as she faces challenges living mostly on her own in the marshes of North Carolina. She is a born naturalist and so the book includes myriad references to the species she finds in the marsh. We all would highly recommend this book if you haven't read it yet!

Jane Jensen-Davis "Kya's Collection"
“Yet as soon as dawn crept between the trees, she felt a strong pull toward the feather, at least to look at it again. At sunrise she ran to the clearing, looked around carefully, then walked to the stump and lifted the feather. It was sleek, almost velvety. Back at the shack, she found a special place for it in the center of her collection—from tiny hummingbird feathers to large eagle tails—that winged across the wall.”
"Femme Fatale" by Cindy O'Neal
"Big Red" by Kristin Shields (in progress- Big Red is a Herring Gull)
And because I mentioned Joey, here he is on my in progress quilt. Joey is an Australian Labradoodle, age 12 weeks.
