Weekly Community Quilt Gathering
- Volunteers meet each Monday at Nativity Lutheran Church at the corner of Knott and Brosterhous Roads to work on community quilts that will be donated to various organizations or to work on their own projects.
- The Monday after the Monday Guild Meeting is considered “Community Quilts Day” and all work is on community quilts or we have special projects that day.
- You need not be a guild member to participate in our community efforts.
- The gathering is from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. each week. The schedule is published in the monthly Newsletter and under Events on this site.
- Bring your lunch, sewing machine, and basic sewing supplies (BSS).
- For more information, contact a Community Quilts committee member.
- Our guild is a non-profit organization, which allows us to raffle off a quilt every year. In order to maintain our nonprofit status, we make “community quilts” and donate them to various organizations in our area. We need ALL guild members to participate in the Community Quilts Project. Each guild member is asked to make at least one quilt per year. You can choose to sew your community quilt(s) at home, or you can work on them at our weekly gatherings.

- Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show
- Began in 1975 when Jean Wells, owner of the Stitchin' Post quilt shop in Sisters hung 12 family quilts. It has grown each year since.
- In 2003, a Director was hired to manage the annual quilt show. In 2005, the 501(c)(3) non-profit was formed as the "Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show" (SOQS). Its mission is to "Educate and Inspire the public about the art of quilting and to benefit the school and community groups of Sisters and Central Oregon." SOQS presents the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show on the second Saturday in July.
- To thank Jean and SOQS for support of our Guild throughout the year, we volunteer to help with the annual quilt show. In return for our help, Jean does a program for our guild at no cost to us.
- For more information on how you can help, contact our Sisters Quilt Show Liaison or one of our Guild officers. Current guild officers and committee chair names can be found using the link on the website.
- At the show, our guild also sponsors quilting demonstrations to help educate the many visitors.

- Help is always needed to hang quilts and help take down quilts and for many other tasks. Plan to spend the day at Pioneer Park – it’s really a lovely event. Invite your families and friends to come and enjoy all the wonderful quilts.
Christmas Party
- Our December meeting is a Christmas party. It is usually a potluck, with members also bringing a small gift for exchange, and possibly a donation for a local charity. Each year's party committee has the ability to change the format to suit them, so please see the December newsletter for all details on the party.
