Raffle Quilt for 2022
"The Art of Bend Roundabouts"
Coordinated by Diana Knight
This 2022 raffle quilt is inspired by images of the various roundabout art and sculptures around the city of Bend. Members were asked to make 1 block in a finished size that is divisible by 3 (6x6, 6x9, 6x12, 9x9, 9x12, or 12x12). Those blocks were put together to make this finished wall-hanging quilt which will be raffled on August 20th of 2022 at our quilt show.
The size of this quilt is 56" x 66".
2020-2021: Wish Upon A Star

Original design by member, Kathy Chism. Sewn by members and quilted by Corni Quinlivin. The quilt raffle was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ticket sales resumed in 2021 and the winner was selected on August 21, 2021. Size: 76" x 76" Money raised: $2064.00

2019: Summer Stars Over Bend
A beautiful soft red, white and blue. Kathy Chism headed the committee. The blocks were sewn by guild members and the quilt was quilted by Kim McCray. Patchwork Sky pattern from Thimble Blossoms. Size: 74" x 84" Money raised: $2232.00

2009: Liberated Log Cabin
Kathe Sabine led members in making this king sized quilt. Its inspiration was from "Log Cabin Quilts with Attitude" by Sharon Rotz. Made from beiges, reds and browns, Nadine H designed and made the large center block. Size: 104" x 104" Money raised: $3000.00+

2008: Woodland Whimsy
This quilt used paint sticks and batiks with bright traditional pieced blocks and lots of bright applique. The applique was designed by Donna Cherry. Robin Ryan did the machine quilting. Also included were three throw pillows. Size: 95" x 95" Money raised: $5000.00+

2007: Jacobean Gems
Batik beiges with bright applique. Donna Cherry designed the appliqued center. Members made the surrounding blocks and it was quilted by Trach Mertes. The inspiration was from Julia Hales pattern "Stars Around the Garden" and permission was received from her to make this quilt. Size: Queen Money Raised: $4000.00

In 1995, the Guild made three of the quilts displayed during the year in memory of the nine Prineville "Hotshot" firefighters who were killed by a fire in Colorado. The newspaper article is below.

Designed and created by guild members and organized by Joanne Myers. Money raised: $646 and donations were made to COBRA and Habitat for Humanity

Guild members designed and created this quilt. It was quilted by Arlene McDonald. Money raised: $300.00 and it was donated to Oregon School of Arts and Crafts.

1987: Irish Chain Variation
Guild members assembled this quilt using a speed method. Quilted by Carrie Bauman of Redmond. The group was organized by Norma Britt, Judy Forgey and Marie Terhune. Money raised: $400.00 donated to Air Life and $100.00 donated to the Deschutes County Library.

This quilt was inspired by the 'modern' piecing techniques of Mary Ellen Hopkins. Guild members Judy Towner, Barb Miller, Judy Ballew and others took turns hand quilting. Money raised: Proceeds were given to Hospice of Bend
